Widening the aperture on sustainable life

I grew up in the American South and bore witness inequality and division. From a young age, I binged books and films as if the future of humanity depended on it.

In 2012, I earned my EMT license and moved to Senegal with Global Citizen Year, working in triage at a rural health post. After seeing firsthand that many health issues in the Global South are rooted in poor infrastructure, I went to Pennsylvania to study chemical engineering.

In 2017, I moved to California to work at Tesla, where I spent eight years helping to launch and scale clean energy products across vehicles, solar, and batteries.

In 2021, I became active in the foster care sector and joined the board of A Home Within because I believe that a society is judged by how it treats its most marginalized.

By 2023, I realized I had chosen engineering to chase a dream that wasn’t my own. I am creative at heart, an artist. So I built a small in-house creative team within Tesla that shaped stories about the world’s electricity grid.

In 2025, I left Tesla to be a filmmaker.

Today, I make films that explore the parts of us that we deny. I also advise companies and nonprofits in the clean energy and foster care sectors.
